Quality Doors and Windows
Golden Windows supply Doors and Windows to both Domestic and Commercial Customers throughout Melbourne and Australia. With over 30 years experience in the Door and Window Manufacturing Industry, you can be sure our product and service is second to none.
Our doors and windows are carefully manufactured with high performance materials to maximise strength and durability. Energy efficient glass and double glazing can be employed to reduce energy bills and save money.
Our frames are made from Aluminium. Aluminium doors and windows have always been recognised for their durability and ease of maintenance.
With a range of modern finishes and colors you can now achieve the prefect look to enhance your newly renovated home or business.
Our most popular door of recent times is our Bifold Door. We specialise in Bifold doors of all shapes, sizes and finishes. We have become the fist port of call for Builders and Architects looking for folding doors with maximum design flexibility as well as looking great.
We have many happy customers including Daniel Cassar:
“Thanks again for the exceptional service on this project and customer service.
We tried a number of other companies and none of them came close on customer service, and attention to detail.”
Daniel Cassar, VicRoads (Manager, Road Standards and Traffic, Technical Services), April 2015
Our Bifold doors and folding sliding doors work by folding back in a concertina fashion. The result is that ‘dead areas’ are avoided and the entire space can be opened up to use as you see fit. This makes them desirable as external doors as well as internal doors.
However, you aren’t limited to just Bifold doors at Golden Windows. We have a variety of doors available including sliding doors and French Doors.
Our Melbourne base is supported by 18 strong staff. We specialize in the following doors:
and the following windows:
In addition we supply:
Our professional, well informed experts will take the time to walk you through our showroom to discuss your most suitable options.
All our work is constructed to meet Australian Standards AS2047 & AS1288 and comes with a 7 year warranty.
In addition we provide exceptional after service care should you have any requirements for it.
We wish you all the success on your up and coming project and welcome your enquiry.

The easiest way to reduce your heating and cooling costs is through efficient window insulation as well as ceiling and wall treatments.
The comfort of your home depends on your windows and it is easy to achieve these reduced costs
by choosing the correct glass. Overall energy consumption decreases along with the costs associated with artificial climate control.
The use of Insulglass ( double glazing ) reduce the heat transfer through the window by 50%
Add products like Low E glass, tint, argon gas filled units in the place of air and the performance of Insulglass units improve significantly. A unit with tinted glass reduced heat gain by up to 50% and
Low E glass improved heat loss by up to 70%
Insulglass also referred to as double glazing is an excellent choice of window insulation and provides home owners and builders a cost effective way to achieve superior energy ratings.
In a predominately mild climate like Melbourne ( its zoned as a cool climate ) the best results are obtained from windows that insulate well ( low U value ) and admit plenty of free solar energy ( high solar heat gain coefficient – SHGC ) . Tinted glass will reduce the SHGC values .
Cool temperatures or heating climates are those in which a typical house uses more than 70% of its total space – conditioning energy for heating in winter and less than 30% for cooling in summer.
It is better to install efficient windows than to rely on heating and air conditioning systems to solve thermal comfort problems. There are some considerable energy savings that can be made by using better window and glazing selections.
Double glazed units consist of two panes of glass separated by a spacer around the edges and sealed to the perimeter, in a factory controlled conditions. The spacer contains a desiccant which eliminates moisture vapour in the cavity. The cavity can be filled with air or as preferred by Golden Windows argon gas. The trapped air/ gas in the gap acts as a insulator. It does not stop heat being conducted from the inner pane to the outer pane – but it does slow heat transfer by conduction down a lot! The gap is too narrow to allow the air to circulate easily. This therefore also reduces the rate of heat transfer by convection.
Low E Glass
Low e glass has a special coating on the internal face of the glass, which has a low rate of emission. It has a lower rate than normal glass of allowing heat to pass through it. In other words, if there is a heat source inside your house ( or outside ), the glass bounces the heat from that object away from the glass. So in winter months, if you have Low e glass in your home, much of the warmth ( heat ) given off by heaters will bounce back into the room. In the summer, the same thing happens but in reverse. The sun heats things up ( bricks, concrete, driveways etc ) outside of your house. This heat radiates from these objects and tries to get into your house. With Low e glass much of this heat bounces off the glass and stays outside.
Glazing has a major impact on the energy efficiency of your home. Poorly designed windows can make your home too hot or too cold. If designed correctly, they’ll help maintain year round comfort, reducing or eliminating the high costs of heating and cooling.
